Abstract
In this paper we will seek to present an historical and dialectological analysis of around 40 sermons writen by Bizente Sarria in the last XVIIIth century and the early XIXth century. Our main purpose is to decribe the Basque language in the north of Nerbioi valley around 1800. After a short introduction, we will present the language analisys. At the same time, trying to explore if Sarria used the Biscayan dialect of Etxebarri, we will compare his language with other materials from different places and dates. In the case Sarria didn't use it, we will try to know which pattern he used. Furthermore, we will also focus on his writing style, in relation to the literary biscayan dialect.
