Abstract

The article presents an overview of some theoretical discussions related to the way in which public television faces digital convergence. From the perspective of the Political Economy of Communication (PEC), the work takes up some classic and current problems of the PEC agenda, such as communicational concentration, the platform economy and the democratization of communication. With these tools, it seeks to carry out a situated analysis of the possibilities of development of public television in the face of convergence, in peripheral contexts.
