Abstract
This article discusses the existence of a dual system in the southeastern Iberian script similar to that already known in the northeastern Iberian script, but more extensive, as well as affecting the occlusive dentals and velars syllabic signs, it also affects at least one of the sibilants, one of the trills and the nasal signs. As regards the origin of the Paleohispanic scripts, this finding challenges the traditional assumption that advocates direct derivation between the two Iberian scripts and allows us to suggest that dualism was already present in at least the first common ancestor of these two scripts.
