The teaching of geography in Instituto-Escuela

Abstract
The experience we are presenting is a didactic application of the historical heritage of the Instituto-Escuela (1918-1936), preserved at the Institute “Isabel La Católica”. We did it with our students of 4th year of Secondary Education along the year 2012-2013. The experience had two objectives: they knew the educational innovations in the school and to be more precise how geography was taught in it and to introduce to historical research. To carry out their work, our students used notebooks from former students of the school, by analyzing their contents and the methodology used to learn geography by teachers.
