Andrés Gómez Seguel
Abstract
The article reviews the theoretical approaches around the processes of socio-cultural change. When developing a critical perspective that allows to emp- hasize the potentialities and restrictions of this type of analysis, the new processes of change in contexts of increasing social and cultural complexity are fa- ced. In this context, a modification is introduced in the identification of the social transformation (being of things) and in its understanding (temporary repre- sentation), for which I propose the concept of change as a device that reduces or amplifies the social com- plexity.
