Abstract
There are dialectal varieties of Basque the most important texts of which are still the ones recorded by Prince Bonaparte during the second half of the XIXth century. Thats is the case of the catechisms written in the variety of the valley of Aezcoa. What we know about those catechisms is fragmentary and even not always correct (cf. catalogue of materials recorded by Bonaparte which was published by González Echegaray and Arana Martija).
It is the aim of this paper some data in order to clarify some details about the aezcoan catechisms, we will focus on those of Garralda, about which confusion is great in the above cited catalogue. In other coming works we will try to clarify certain questions about the aezcoan doctrines of Aria, Low Abaurrea and Orbara.
