Abstract
Artistic or performative research is an emerging research program that, not without difficulty, acquires visibility and legitimacy in the universitary academic field. This research focuses on the creative process itself in order to observe how, through it, a knowledge of special relevance for teaching and transmission of artistic experience is generated through it. Over the last century, contemporary dance has questioned and mobilized the artistic conventions and the transmission models of the choreographic repertoire, making artistic and scientific practices converge, until their borders and disciplinary coercions are indiscernible. 'Rosas danst Rosas' (Thierry De Mey & A.T. De Keersmaeker, 1997), is a choreo-cinematographic archive in which the gesture and the movement, the architectural space, image and music, and some mathematical algorithms establish an interdisciplinary dialogue that mobilizes and challenges the gaze of the spectator, calling into question the conditions of visibility and appreciation of the dance.
