Abstract
This essay focus on the dramaturgical research developed throughout the creation of «Anonymo», a contemporary dance piece by Greek choreographer Tzeny Argiriou. The project tackles the problems around interpersonal relations in a period shaped by the digital revolution, focusing on the tensions happening between the physical and the digital memories. The social media generates nuanced possibilities of interaction and communication. However, it could be noticed how our digital presence somehow denaturalises physical interactions. Dance, as connective tissue, is proposed in «Anonymo» as an alternative to the individual alienation taking place on social media. Using as a starting point pre-choreographic structures in traditional Greek dance, Argiriou proposes a performance lexicon from which to construct a physical ceremony, a contemporary ritual.
