Abstract
The Puçol School Museum (Elche) emerged in the 1970s as a result of an educational experience developed at the school in the Elche district of the same name. Around knowledge of the environ-ment, an education was structured that, in close connection with the community, patrimonialized the traditional life of this rural area. Since its origins, volunteering has represented a crucial ele-ment in the future of the institution, which in 2009 was included in the Unesco Register of Good Practices for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
