Abstract
The scarce bibliographical references on the activities of the Pedagogical Missions of the Second Republic in Cantabria partly explain the lack of knowledge, if not the undervaluing, of the work they carried out. By resorting to newspaper sources, we can discover a little more about the extent of the two types of missions which visited the villages of Cantabria: the unofficial missions in 1933, and those dependent on the Patronato de Misiones Pedagógicas (1934 and 1935). Both would not have been possible without the enthusiastic and generous participation of teachers and students of the Santander Teacher Training College.
