Abstract

Ángel Costa González (1905–1973) was a teacher from Segovia who belonged to the ‘Magisterio Renovador’ generation. His advanced ideas, together with the disputes he had with the village priest, caused him to suffer repression under Franco. In this work, by means of an in-depth inter-view and documentary analysis, his figure is recovered, though the exposition of his professional and vital trajectory, as well as the family experiences generated by that repression, which crystal-lised in the silence about the teacher and his situation, as well as in the fear, poverty and pain experienced by his relatives.
