Abstract

This article aims to show how the Education Museum Gabriela Mistral in Santiago de Chile is related to the history, heritage and memory, from a local perspective and of work with their communities. For this, we have divided the text into two sections, the first one will deliver some elements about the rise of the museum in 1941 and the renewal process conducted between 2000 and 2006. In the second, we will present, through the program "memories from the marginality", a part of the activities nowadays that we are currently developing with communities relating to the museum.
