Abstract

This article presents the educational heritage of the Columela secondary school in Cádiz from the perspective of the discipline of Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Property.

It assesses its current situation and reflects its past, in order to delve into the material and historical causes of the changes and the disappearance of part of this legacy.

The article examines the relationship between the history of education in Spain and the changes in historical heritage perspectives, since the cabinet of natural sciences, the physics and chemistry laboratory, the archive itself and the library all constitute a prime example of scientific and illustrated teaching.
