Abstract

This article reviews the background, characteristics and potential of educational suitcases as educational tools. These portable and autonomous resources contain a great variety of materials that are of special interest to favor teaching-learning processes in different contexts, particularly in formal education. In order to offer a comprehensive view of their usefulness in the school context, the formal and content aspects are discussed in depth and some examples are presented for their use in the main curricular areas of knowledge.
