Abstract

In this work, the device called Ludion is used to discuss the development of experimental physics in Spain. It was described in Italy in 1648, and during the 18th century it was spread in texts written in different languages. Authors who influenced its dissemination in Europe are review. These au-thors in turn had relevance in the teaching of experimental physics in Spain. The device did not have a great relevance in laboratories. However, it was relevant as an informative tool, of enter-tainment, in markets or fairs in the hands of charlatans or itinerant scientists, who are increasingly considered relevant in the cultural dissemination of their time.
